Cookie policy
How devinsta uses cookies on this website. Last updated 2026-07-02.
1. What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file a website stores on your device so it can remember something about you between page loads — a session, a preference, or an anonymous identifier used to measure how the site is being used. Cookies come in two flavours: first-party (set by devinsta directly) and third-party (set by tools we embed).
2. What we use
We keep our cookie footprint deliberately small. On this site we set three categories only:
| Category | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Make the site work — remembering your consent choice, protecting form submissions from abuse, preserving basic session state. | Session and up to 24 hours (consent record) |
| Analytics | Understand how many people visit, which pages perform, and where the funnel leaks — using a privacy-respecting analytics tool that stores no personal identifiers. | Up to 12 months |
| Preference | Remember choices such as dismissed banners, language, and small UI preferences so you do not have to set them again. | Up to 12 months |
We do not run advertising cookies, cross-site tracking pixels, or behavioural profiling. We do not sell data.
3. Consent
When you visit the site for the first time, a banner asks you to accept or decline non-essential cookies. Strictly necessary cookies load regardless — the site cannot function without them, and they are permitted under GDPR and UK GDPR without consent. Analytics and preference cookies are only set once you accept.
Your choice is stored in your browser's local storage under the key devinsta_cookie_consent with a 24-hour lifetime. After 24 hours the banner returns so you can revisit your decision. This short lifetime is deliberate — it errs on the side of asking you again rather than assuming consent indefinitely.
4. Changing or withdrawing consent
You can change your mind at any time by clearing site data for this domain in your browser. Steps for the major browsers:
- Chrome / Edge: Settings → Privacy and security → Site settings → View permissions and data stored across sites → devinsta.com → Clear data.
- Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data → devinsta.com → Remove.
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data → Manage Data → devinsta.com → Remove Selected.
The consent banner will appear on your next visit. You can also block cookies entirely at the browser level — the site will continue to function, though the analytics tools that help us improve it will not run.
5. Third-party cookies
A small number of pages may embed third-party services (for example a form provider, a video player, or a booking tool). Where a third party sets cookies we identify them in this section as the estate grows. Today the site loads all analytics from first-party endpoints only. If we add a third-party embed we will update this policy and refresh your consent banner.
6. Regional notes
UK & EEA (GDPR / UK GDPR): non-essential cookies require your consent before they are set. Consent must be freely given, specific, informed and unambiguous, and it must be as easy to withdraw as it is to give.
California (CCPA / CPRA): we do not sell or share personal information, so the “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” mechanism is not required for our data flows. Your right to opt out of analytics still applies through the mechanisms in section 4.
Brazil (LGPD) and other regions: the principles above apply equivalently. Contact us if you need a written explanation for a specific jurisdiction.
