Shopify Plus is Shopify's enterprise tier. It raises the limits and unlocks the features that high-volume and complex merchants need: Shopify Functions and Checkout Extensibility for custom checkout logic, Organization-level multi-store management, advanced B2B with company accounts and price lists, ShopifyQL for analytics, higher API call budgets and dedicated launch and support resources.
The big differentiator is checkout. Plus merchants can customise the checkout flow that everyone else gets out of the box — adding upsells, custom discounts, gift cards, validation rules, shipping logic. Since the Checkout.liquid sunset, Functions and UI Extensions are the supported path, and they're considerably more powerful than the old templating approach if used well.
The pitch makes sense for merchants doing serious GMV (rule of thumb: north of US$1m/year), running multiple regional or brand storefronts, selling B2B alongside DTC, or needing the performance and SLAs of the higher tier. Below that, regular Shopify offers most of what brands need at a fraction of the cost.
